An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management of Burncourt NS initially advertised this permanent vacancy on educationposts.ie on the 18th of July 2025 for teachers listed on the Supplementary Panel for the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore. The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest was the 23rd of July 2025. The closing date for submission of expressions of interest from teachers on the Waterford and Lismore Supplementary Panel was extended by advertisement on educationposts.ie to the 25th of July 2025.
The Board of Management of Burncourt NS is now proceeding to fill this permanent vacancy through open competition.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated team player who is willing to work collaboratively with other members of staff and contribute to the overall development of the school.
Experience teaching in a multi-class setting and catering for pupils with additional needs is desirable. This position is in the AS class initially, however this is subject to change at the determination of the Principal.
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable for the position:
• Probation
• Experience of teaching in a multi class setting
• Ard-caighdeán i nGaeilge
Significant experience of working with children who have a diagnosis of autism/ autism spectrum disorder and / or Special Education Needs is desired. The successful applicant should demonstrate experience in supporting autistic pupils, demonstrate the ability to work within and lead a class team, have experience working from behavioural support plans and managing behaviours of concern. Knowledge of Lámh/ PECS/ Augmentative Communication and positive behaviour management strategies would be beneficial.
Applicants must hold a Certificate to teach Religious Education.
