Ballinamoney National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kilmore, Martin Hayes. The school seeks to appoint a Teaching Deputy Principal beginning on the 4th December 2024.
The present teaching staff comprises of 1 Teaching Principal, 4 class teachers, 1 SET teacher, 1 part-time SET teacher and 1 SNA.
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council and have a minimum of five years’ recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
The appointee will become part of the leadership and management team in the school. The eligibility criteria, essential roles and responsibilities of the post of Deputy Principal Teacher are determined by the four Domains of Leadership and Management as set out in chapter 4 of Circular 0044/2019.

They must hold a certificate for the teaching of Catholic Religious Education and they must be fully Garda vetted.
The Deputy Principal will work with the Principal to support and develop effective leadership within the school. The responsibilities of the role can require participation in the leadership role outside the standard school day and outside of the standard school year.

The successful candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience. They should have experience in policy development and in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives.
