Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This post is for full time SNA position for a class for children with autism.
Applicants who are members of the Supplementary Panel must furnish a certified copy of completed
Panel form 1 (PF1) with their application.
Candidates should have minimum qualifications as set out by the Department of Education and
Skills.
This role will initially involve working the Infant day over five days.
To meet the needs of the school the following competencies are desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with ASD and/or complex needs
• Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and promotion of positive behaviour strategies
• Experience of working with children with mobility and/or feeding needs
• Evidence of CPD in the area of Special Needs in relation to education
• Child protection training and certification
• Candidates must be able to work well within a team, display a strong work ethic, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training
Appointment is subject, but not limited to, satisfactory references, current Garda Vetting and OHS.
