An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management initially advertised this permanent vacancy on this website on the 2nd day of July, 2024 (2/7/24) for teachers listed on the Supplementary Panel for the Diocese of Killaloe. The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest was the 7th day of July, 2024 (7/7/24). The closing date for submission of expressions of interest from teachers on the relevant Supplementary Panel was extended by advertisement on this website to the 11th day of July, 2024 (11/7/24). The Board of Management is now proceeding to fill this permanent vacancy through open competition.

Experience and knowledge of multi-grade teaching is desirable and applicants should demonstrate an ability to manage and teach in such a setting.

Collaborative teaching is a fundamental element of Carrig N.S. and all applicants should have a good understanding of how to co-teach and work collaboratively in a multi-grade setting.

Appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements, occupational health screening, satisfactory references & Teaching Council registration.
