Cork Education and Training Board is seeking a part time Career Guidance teacher (10 h.p.w) for its education service delivered in St. Bernadette’s Special School, a 20-teacher co-educational which caters to students with mild general learning difficulties between the ages of 12 to 18 years of age.
The aim of the school is to make each student be as independent as they can be. We do this by providing a secure, caring and supportive environment through the provision of a broad curriculum of social, personal, academic, sporting, vocational and relevant life-skills programmes.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers who will be responsible for delivering appropriate education programmes and supports to students attending St. Bernadette’s Special School.
Candidates must have:
- A recognised teaching qualification in accordance with Department of Education regulations and must be registered with the Teaching Council. Only qualifications of Post Primary nature will be considered for this post.
- Experience of teaching children with special educational needs.
- Have a strong work ethic, respect the ethos of the school, work well as part of a team, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
