An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This is a 0.83 Standard SNA Post. Candidates should be professional, patient, flexible, trustworthy and be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. They must be self-motivated and demonstrate a caring approach to the role. The successful candidate will be required to participate in in-school training and planning outside of school hours. They must also be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school.
Applicants should have experience of working as an SNA in a classroom setting supporting pupils with intimate care needs, sensory needs and communication difficulties. It would be desirable for candidates to have experience of working with pupils with Down Syndrome, Autism, EBD, ADHD and children with challenging behaviour.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, satisfactory pre-employment medical screening via the OHS, completion of Children First online training, and Patron approval. Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills requirements.
Applicants who are seeking re-deployment must furnish a certified copy of completed PF1 Form with their application. Following shortlisting, applicants will be invited to interview. Invitation to interview will be sent via email. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
