An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management initially advertised this permanent vacancy on this website for teachers listed on the Supplementary Panel for the Diocese of Meath. The closing date for submission of expressions of interest from teachers on the relevant Supplementary Panel was extended by advertisement on this website to the 26th of June 2024.
The Board of Management is now proceeding to fill the vacancy through open competition.
This permanent vacancy is for a Special Class Teacher for pupils with ASD, behaviours of concern and complex needs. The successful candidate must have experience working with pupils with ASD and Complex Needs. Experience of managing behaviours of concern is essential, a relevant qualification/professional development in this area would be desirable. Preferably a good knowledge of CPI/MAPA and other de-escalation strategies is vital.
The successful candidate must be able to manage a class of pupils with the aforementioned learning needs and also experience with non-verbal communication strategies, toileting and physical behaviours. These skills are essential to the role. A sound knowledge of positive behaviour reinforcement, choice boards and schedules are required. Experience and or professional development in TEACCH/ PECs/Lámh or other communication strategies would be an advantage. Ability to work effectively with the class team and support staff is essential.
Applicants for this post must have a Certificate to teach Religious Education. Appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
The successful candidates must be available for a staff training day on Wednesday 28th August 2024.
