An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The escort will accompany pupils on transport from their homes to and from school. The bus escort must be available in the mornings from approximately 8.10am to 9.10 am and from 2.15pm to 3.15pm. (These are optimum guide times only and depend on the individual routes).
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop off point.(Dublin road or Stradbally road side of Portlaoise to be agreed with driver)
The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to provide for pupil care needs including but not limited to assisting them getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, an occupational health screening and Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
