An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Post Advertised
The Permanent Post advertised is for Special Class Teacher, in Sonas, joining a vibrant team of staff including two other Sonas Teachers and eight Special Needs Assistants (SNAs). It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend approximately 2 years as Sonas Teacher and will subsequently work in Mainstream - as Class Teacher and Special Education Teacher, in line with Scoil Bhríde’s ‘class rotation’ policy/procedures.
 
Scoil Bhríde, Kilcullen
Scoil Bhríde Kilcullen is a Catholic Primary School, originally founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion, in 1878. Today, our school is a thriving place of learning with 27 mainstream classes and 3 Special Classes in Sonas. It is located in the centre of Kilcullen, beside 'Cross and Passion College' and across from the Kilcullen Mart. Our facilities include a large (double) hall/gym with a new state-of-the-art AV system and two smaller halls. Sonas facilities include an outdoor sensory garden, a ball pool, a multi-sensory room and a large sensory integration room. In addition to three large tarmacadam play areas, outdoor facilities include a large pitch, surrounded by a running track, basketball courts and an outdoor classroom.

Enrolment & Staff
Enrolment on June 26th 2024 is 651 students, representing 468 families. Our Staff Team includes 42 Teachers. This includes 10 Special Education Teachers, as well as 15 Special Needs Assistants (SNAs), one full-time Secretary, one full-time Caretaker, three Bus Escorts for Sonas, four Cleaning Staff and an administrative Principal and Deputy Principal.
