An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Joseph's NS, Ballymitty has one bus escort vacancy for the 2024-25 school year (182 days).
The escort will accompany pupils on transport from their homes to and from school.
The bus escort must be available to work a morning run and an afternoon run at 2pm. (These are optimum guide times only and depend on the individual routes).
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop off point agreed which is the school.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to provide for pupil care needs including but not limited to assisting them getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
Routes may vary but are located between the school and Carrig-on-Bannow, Cleariestown, etc. as we are a rural school.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, an occupational health screening and Túsla child Safeguarding training.
