POST DETAILS
Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The successful candidate will have initial duties in a new Special Class for Pupils with Autism, due to open in the school in September 2024.
Applicants with a PF1 Panel Form must submit a copy with their application.
Experience of supporting pupils with Autism/ASD/ADHD/EBD/Visual Impairment/Down Syndrome, behaviours of concern, communication difficulties, intimate care needs and medical needs is desirable.
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the principal and class teacher(s) in a supportive and caring role.
The successful candidate would ideally have good communication skills, display competence in I.C.T. and evidence of CPD in Special Education.
A FETAC Level 5 or 6 is desirable for this role.
Duties are as set out in Department of Education Circulars.
