The Board of Management of Carysfort National School, invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. Carysfort N.S. is a co-educational primary school, which caters for pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
Carysfort N.S. is a Church of Ireland National School under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin and Glendalough, the Most Reverend Michael Jackson. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to lead and consolidate the Church of Ireland ethos of the school.
This is a permanent teaching Deputy Principal position, and the appointment will be made via open competition.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities for this position relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as outlined in circular 0044/2019:
In accordance with Circular 0044/2019 it should be noted that as the needs of the school continuously evolve, a review of duties may result in reassignment of the role and responsibilities with the leadership and management team.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
In line with the above domains and working closely with the Principal, the duties attached to the role involve whole school curricular development, policy development, day-to-day management of resources and personnel and long-term strategic planning for the future development of the school.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria. Fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school with the Republic of Ireland.
Completed Applications will be accepted strictly by post only, to arrive no later than 12 noon on the closing date.
