Description:
Teacher required to deliver our Literacy & Technology Programme at the Field of Dreams.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher to join our team at the Field of Dreams, Clash Road Curraheen Cork.T12XH4C.
Job Description:
To deliver the literacy & technology programme (Latch-on) a bespoke programme, developed by Queensland University, to 12 adult students with Down syndrome.
To administer 3 assessments ( Neale, Peabody & Burt -training will be provided) and to maintain all student records.
To differentiate materials and topics accordingly and ensure all students learn at their own level and work to their strengths.
To create and submit differentiated lesson plans weekly in advance of class.
To incorporate IT into the classroom activities (iPads & laptops provided).
To ensure a respectful learning environment is maintained.
Job Details:
Location: Field of Dreams, Clash Road, Curraheen, Cork, T12 XH4C
Start Date: Mid -September 2023
Duration: Fixed Term Contract to end of academic year, early June 2024.
Rate of Pay: Remuneration to be outlined at interview stage.
Hours/Days: 12 hours per week -Thursday & Friday from 9.30am-3.30pm.
The teacher will be supported by 2x classroom assistants and volunteers.
This post may suit a retired primary/secondary/special education teacher, or a teacher on a career break, or a teacher who wants to work part-time.
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to differentiate materials based on the existing core curriculum of 4 modules which are provided, including worksheets.
IT skills on iPad & laptop.
Ability to communicate with all stakeholders including other staff members, classroom assistants, volunteers, parents, DSI adult education officer & care coordinator.
Knowledge and understanding of issues associated with Down Syndrome.
Training will be provided.
Requirements:
Garda Vetting.
Fully Qualified Teacher- Member of the Teaching Council.
