Harcourt Terrace ETNS is a warm and inclusive primary school, located in the heart of Dublin city centre. Our school first opened its doors in 2018 with one Junior Infant class. Since then, we have grown to cater for mainstream classes from Junior Infants-3rd class, as well as two classes for autistic students. When fully developed there will be 24 mainstream classes and 3 specialised Autism Classes.

We are a co-educational primary school, operating under the patronage of Educate Together. We value respect, diversity and inclusion as core values in our school. We promote a collaborative approach to education, which honours positive and respectful relationships with all stakeholders. Our school community is caring, vibrant and passionate about our school. The wider school community of Harcourt Terrace ETNS is supportive and dedicated to developing our school collaboratively. All Stakeholders including our PGTA and BOM, are all committed to the values of Educate Together.

We are currently situated in temporary accommodation, in Rathmines since September 2021. Our permanent home in Harcourt Terrace, is under construction at present. We hope to be moved, into our state of the art forever home by September 2024. Our school’s permanent location is situated in the city centre, which will be easily accessed by various modes of public transport to school by all stakeholders. Applicants should be aware that there will be no parking available on our school site.

Candidates should demonstrate, a commitment to the Educate Together Ethos, have the leadership skills required to assist the principal in leading our developing school, as we transition to our permanent home in September 2024. This Deputy Principal role is due to become an administrative role once Harcourt Terrace ETNS is fully developed.

Experience in leadership roles is desirable. Please be advised that Circular 0044/2019, outlines the Appointment Procedures for Deputy Principals via Open Competition. Candidates are advised to read this circular, in advance of completing an application. Interviews are due to be held in person on Monday 20th of February.

Applicants who are shortlisted, will be given a minimum of seven days’ notice, to attend for interview and should reply by email to accept or decline the interview. The email will outline the criteria for interview, location and name the Interview Board. Please note that there may be a second interview, in the event that this becomes necessary.
