An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St Ciaran’s NS is a Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Diocese of Tuam
The school has six teachers (four mainstream and two SET). It is also the base school for Principal teacher release days.
The key roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/2019
• Leading Teaching and Learning
• Managing the Organisation
• Leading School Development
• Developing Leadership Capacity
Ideally, the successful candidate should have:
o Proven Leadership skills with experience of people management.
o Evidence of continuous and relevant Professional Development.
o Previous teaching experience across a variety of classes in a multi-grade setting.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Experience in prioritising, planning, organising, monitoring, and controlling work and activities.
o Proven ability to work as a member of a team both internally and externally.
o Have a good understanding of SEN in Primary schools.
o Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives, as well as previous experienced in policy development.
o Knowledge and experience of ICT.
o An understanding off and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school.
The successful candidate must hold a Certificate to teach Religious Education.
An internal panel of suitable candidates may be set up for a period of four months from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
