The school is open to all in the community and operates with a catholic ethos under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork and Ross.

Applicants should have an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience and related initiatives. The successful appointee is required to be fully registered with the Teaching Council and have an appropriate qualification to oversee religious education teaching. They will be expected to ensure continuity in all aspects of school operations and enhance the programs in the school.
