Part-time Chemistry Lecturer in Cork
Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC) is opening a branch in Cork which will be based on the Griffith College Cork campus. We run foundation programmes which allow international students to progress to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ireland and the UK.
We are looking for a Chemistry Lecturer to teach on the International Foundation Year programme (Science and Engineering streams). The academic year runs from October until the end of May. Further information about our organisation and courses is available at www.difc.ie.
Details of the role:
• 7 teaching hours per week from October to May
• A combination of lectures and tutorials
• Approximately A level/first year undergraduate standard
• Involves setting and grading coursework and exams (both formative and summative)
• Involves working with students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
Essential:
• Minimum of Honours Degree in related field
Desirable:
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience
• Experience of working with international students
• Excellent communication and administrative skills
• English language teaching qualification such as CELTA
