Eolas Breise:
This school is a mainstream school for Girls with a Facility for Deaf Children which caters for boys and girls.
There are four positions currently available, 2 one-year, fixed-term temporary positions and 2 substitute maternity positions (both maternity leaves commence on 28th September 2015)
Two positions are for classes in our Facility for Deaf Children, the first being an Early Intervention Class for Deaf Children with seven children of pre-school age.Their programme of work is of a pre-school level and consists of a combination of Aistear Early Childhood Programme, IEPs ( Individual Education Plans) and other Early Childhood Programmes.
The second is a mixed class of Senior Infants/First Class with seven pupils. The Facility uses both Irish Sign Language (ISL) and spoken English as a form of communication. There will an SNA in each class who can communicate through Sign Language also.
The other two positions are in the mainstream section of the school.
It is NOT a prerequisite that candidates are proficient in Sign Language in order to apply for a position in a class for Deaf Children, however, any experience of Sign Language would be beneficial. Candidates who do not have Sign Language must be willing to avail of Sign Language Training during the school year should a position in a class for Deaf Children be offered to them.
Please specify in your letter of application which of the 3 position types you are interested in:
- Early Intervention Class for Deaf Children
- Special class Teacher (Deaf Children)
- Mainstream Class
- All three of the above
This identical ad has also been placed under 'Special Class Teacher'.
One application will suffice for all three types of vacancies.
Please write 'Application' on the outside (front) of the envelope.
Please write your name and the type/types of vacancy you are applying for on the back of the envelope.
Please include a stamped addressed envelope if you would like your CV returned to you.
Note....the standard application form for teaching posts is NOT required, CV with a cover letter will suffice.
Interviews for these positions will be held in mid-July.
