An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This is a maternity post starting on Monday 7th December in a SET position shared with Mayo National School, Crettyard, Co Laois. Newtown National School is the base school. The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team in our Special Education Teaching section and they should be able to build a good rapport with colleagues and pupils.

The end date of the post will be Friday 4th June 2027; however, there is a likelihood of continuing until Thursday 24th June 2027.

Suitably qualified applicants from all teacher training colleges are welcome to apply. Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, Teaching Council registration, completion of the online TUSLA Child Safeguarding Training, and satisfactory references.
