An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This role will involve escorting one child with additional support needs on their school transport. The transport will collect the escort at our school in Arklow each morning and then go to collect the pupil in Gorey to bring them back to the school in Arklow. In the afternoon, the bus will meet the escort and pupil at the school to travel to Gorey and will then drop the escort back to the school in Arklow.
The role will be 2 hours total per day, 5 days per week and working hours are approx. 8.30am – 9.30am and 2pm – 3pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accompanying and ensuring the safety of student during transit to and from the school.
• Secure seat belts and other safety equipment
• Assisting the student on and off the transport vehicle safely.
• Cooperating with the driver and communicating effectively with school management and parents.
• Maintaining a calm, supportive, and safe environment during the journey.
Experience working with children with additional support needs is required. Garda vetting must be completed through the school prior to commencement.
Salary:
Payment is at the standard hourly rate set by the Department of Education.
