Bus Escort required for approximately 20 hours per week (Mon – Fri) spread between the mornings and afternoons.
The role of the bus escort is to supervise children with special educational & mental health needs travelling to and from the school. The rate of pay is €15.98 per hour. In addition, holiday pay at a rate of 8% of hours worked is paid 3 times during the school year. Employment is during school terms only from the end of August to mid July annually.
Vacancy is on bus servicing the west side of Galway city. The candidate will need to meet the bus in that area prior to student collections. Experience of working with children and an understanding of children with intellectual disabilities & mental health needs is desirable. Training will be provided as needed.
Appointment will be subject to, but not limited to: satisfactory references and current vetting requirements. Department of Education guidelines apply.
