Carrigaline Educate Together NS is seeking a Bus Escort to support pupils with additional needs travelling to and from school.

Hours of Work
- Morning: Depart Carrigaline at approximately 7.40am to collect pupils, arriving at the school and supervising the children until 8.40am
- Afternoon: Depart the school at 2.30pm with pupils to their home/drop-off point, returning to Carrigaline by 3.30pm
-Monday to Friday, in line with the school calendar

Key Responsibilities
-Assisting pupils on and off the bus, ensuring their safety at all times
-Supervising pupils during travel, including checking seat belts and safe storage of bags/equipment
-Acting as a link between home and school for relevant communication
-Treating pupils, parents/guardians, and bus drivers with sensitivity and respect
-Meeting the bus driver daily in Carrigaline
-Supporting the Educate Together ethos

Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, energetic and flexible and must be available to work throughout the school calendar year. They will also be aware of and supportive of the ethos of the school.

Experience and/or qualifications in working with children with additional needs, along with other relevant training/experience, are desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be Garda Vetted by the school and will be required to complete child protection training and any other CPD relevant to the position.

Salary
€15.98 per hour (as per Dept. of Education & Youth)
Paid monthly during term time
Escorts are not paid during school holidays but receive statutory holiday pay of 8%

Appointment is subject to ongoing sanction by the Department of Education & Youth.
