Additional Information:
St. Anne’s Primary School, a Catholic School under the patronage of the Diocese of Cloyne, is inviting applications for the permanent position of a teaching Deputy Principal.
Circular 0044/2019 Section 1.2 states: ‘The Deputy Principal occupies a position of vital importance within the senior leadership team in a school. Shared leadership requires openness and willingness on the part of Principals and Deputy Principals, to share and to distribute leadership and management responsibilities in a manner that encourages and supports partnership.'
Circular 0044/2019 Section 6.7 states: 'Where a school appoints a Deputy Principal, it shall be understood that it is a core function of the Deputy Principal’s role to act or deputise as the Principal in the Principal’s absence.'
In accordance with Circular 0044/2019, it should be noted that as the needs of the school continuously evolve, a review of duties may result in reassignment of the role and responsibilities within the in-school leadership and management team.
Recruitment for the post of Deputy Principal is based on the four domains of Leadership and Management as outlined in circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation

4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The successful candidate will:
Be fully registered with the Teaching Council,
hold a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education in a Catholic primary school.

Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, show initiative and contribute positively as part of a school community.
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.
