Additional Information:
Scoil Maelruain Senior is seeking to recruit a Bus Escort to accompany and support two pupils travelling to and from school each day.
The successful applicant must be available to meet the school transport at the designated pick-up and drop-off point.
Hours
Part-time, Monday–Friday, during school terms:
Morning: approximately 7:20am–8.50am
Afternoon: approximately 2.30pm–4:00pm
Times may vary slightly depending on traffic.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should:
Have experience working with children with autism and/or additional needs.
Be caring, patient, reliable and responsible.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians and school staff.
Have fluency in English.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the pupil safely enters and exits the vehicle.
Ensure the pupil is securely seated and appropriately supervised throughout the journey.
Support the pupil’s safety, comfort and wellbeing.
Complete appropriate handover to school staff and parents/guardians.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the pupil’s dignity and privacy.
Requirements
The successful applicant must:
Provide two current referees and their contact details.
Satisfy Garda Vetting requirements.
Complete a valid Statutory Declaration and complete the Form of Undertaking.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and Garda Vetting.
Rate of Pay
€15.98 per hour, in line with Department of Education guidelines for School Bus Escorts. Payment is made weekly during school term time, with holiday pay provided in accordance with applicable arrangements.
