Scoil Mhuire gan Smál (Creagh NS) is a large non-deis co-educational school on the outskirts of Ballinasloe with a teaching staff of 33 (including principal teacher), 444 pupils, 9.66 SNAs and 2 Autism classes.
The Roles and Responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of school leadership and management as set out in circular 0044/2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are essential: Extensive knowledge and understanding of school leadership, management and administration. Experience of successfully leading school management teams. A commitment to shared leadership, delegation and the development of team leadership capacity within the school. Proficient IT skills, evidence of a commitment to ongoing Professional Development are preferable.
This is a readvertisement necessitated by a lack of clarity of the starting date. The starting date (October 8th ) will be following the recruitment process. Any applicants who have previously applied ( to the advertisement dated August 19th) need not reapply as all applications from both advertisements for the post of principal teacher in Creagh National School (Scoil Mhuire gan Smál) will be considered on an equal basis.
