The Board of Management of Our Lady of Hope School, Armagh Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12 D12 V6RK invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Administrative Deputy Principal
Our Lady of Hope School is a special school catering for students with a diagnosis of autism and complex needs between the ages of 4 years and 18 years of age.
Our Lady of Hope School is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council under be Route 1 (Primary), Route 2 (Post Primary) or Route 4 (Other) and meet all eligibility criteria set out in in DE Circular 0044/2019 Appointment Procedures for the Principal and Deputy Principal
Applicants must have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school or post-primary school within the Republic of Ireland
Applicants who qualified after Sept 2011, a recognised certificate to teach Religious Education is required. Applicants who qualified pre-Sept 2011, a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education is desirable.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019: 1. Leading Teaching and Learning 2. Managing the Organisation 3. Leading School Development 4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
An understanding and a commitment to the values, vision and Catholic ethos of Our Lady of Hope School
An in-depth knowledge and understanding of special school curricula, including Primary, Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle, together with an awareness of the frameworks and approaches required to lead and support a special school.
A broad range of relevant teaching experience and a proven commitment to supporting the diverse educational, social and emotional needs of students.
An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively with the Principal in providing effective leadership and management of Our Lady of Hope School.
