The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Principal and/or class teacher and will support pupils with additional care needs in both mainstream and ASD classes. The duties of the Special Needs Assistant will include supporting pupils in accessing and participating in the curriculum, promoting their independence, inclusion and social development, and assisting with personal care and other care needs where required. The SNA will work collaboratively with the class teacher and school staff, contribute to the implementation of individual pupil support plans, and support the development of a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment. All duties will be carried out in accordance with Department of Education guidelines, school policies and procedures, and under the direction of the Principal and/or relevant teacher.
