Scoil Naisiúnta na h-Aille is a mainstream co-educational school situated on the outskirts of the parish of Cappawhite. Our school is a rural school, steeped in history, and can trace its origins back to the early 1800’s. Our school has five mainstream, two special classes and two SET teachers.

We seek a Principal who will lead a dedicated and collaborative staff and who will work closely with the Board of Management, Deputy Principal, staff and parents to ensure the continued development and success of the school.

The appointment process will be governed by the terms of Department of Education Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.

The roles and responsibilities of the post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management set out in the Circular:
• Leading Learning and Teaching
• Managing the Organisation
• Leading School Development
• Developing Leadership Capacity

The successful candidate should demonstrate:
• Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer the school.
• A strong understanding of the Primary Curriculum and of high-quality learning and teaching.
• Strong leadership skills and commitment to work in partnership with Deputy Principal in furthering the school aims.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of SET and a commitment to prioritise the needs of children with special educational needs.
• A commitment to inclusion and diversity.
• Commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos, values and traditions of the school.
• Excellent people management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, pupil, parents, BOM, other schools, the wider community and external agencies.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Fully registered with the Teaching Council (Route 1 – Primary).
• Minimum of 5 years recognised teaching experience, two of which must be recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
