The bus escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons five days per week. Collection is from the school and drop off will be at the school, therefore Escorts need to make their own way to the school to meet the driver.

• The bus escort will:
-accompany pupils on school bus transport to and from their home to St. Conleth's N.S. each day.
- work mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, term time only.
-ensure pupil safety and wellbeing while on board:
- assist children getting on and off bus and ensure a safe handover to SNA/teacher/parent/guardian
- secure seat belts and any other safety equipment
- be aware of the care needs of the individual children on the route and support these needs as required

This position is subject to satisfactory references and Garda Vetting. The hourly rate of pay is in line with the Department of Education guidelines for School Bus Escorts (€15.98 per hour), processed weekly during school term time. Escorts are not paid over school holidays, but receive holiday pay instead.

The successful candidate will require good communication skills as they will be working with children and liaising with school staff, the bus driver and parents/guardians. Experience of working with children with additional needs is desirable.
