St Joseph’s N.S. is a vertical co-educational primary school,DEIS PLUS under the patronage of the Archbishop of Armagh, Eamonn Martin . The school seeks to appoint an Administrative Principal beginning on Monday , 2nd November 2026.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the In-School Leadership and Management Team and staff to lead the school’s next phase of development.
The present teaching staff comprises 1 Administrative Principal ,1 Administrative Deputy Principal,26 Mainstream Class Teachers, 2 special class teachers,14 SETs and 13.5 SNA positions.
The roles and responsibilities for the post of Principal are aligned to the four Domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.
Candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of and professional experience relevant to the four Domains and Standards
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Applications are invited by post for the attention of the Chairperson of the Board of Management from teachers who are fully registered with the Teaching Council. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a primary school in Ireland and hold a Certificate to teach Religion.
The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, satisfactory references, Occupational Health Screening and the approval of the Patron.

safe, supportive and nurturing place for pupils to learn and flourish.
• An excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills to lead and maintain a happy, progressive school community.
• A commitment to the distributed leadership model of practice and developing leadership capacity
• A comprehensive understanding of special education provision as well as an acceptance of the importance of maintaining a policy of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the school.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of the Primary Curriculum and evidence of involvement and facilitating positive change through the School Self-Evaluation process (SSE).
• Experience and knowledge of prioritising, planning, implementing and embedding whole school policies and procedures.
• A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
• Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with staff members, Board of Management, parents and guardians and the wider school community.
