This advertisement relates primarily to one fixed-term teaching position, with intended initial duties as a Special Education Teacher. Two specified-purpose teaching positions will also be filled through this recruitment process. All three positions will be offered to suitable candidates in order of merit. The intended initial duties attached to the specified-purpose positions have not yet been determined. Please note that teaching duties may be subject to change in accordance with the needs of the school.
Applications are particularly welcome from candidates who have experience of, or a strong interest in, teaching Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class.
Experience in the following areas is desirable:
- Assessment of and for Learning
- Meaningful inclusion of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and pupils for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL)
- Active, hands-on approaches to teaching and learning
- Professional collaboration, including planning, team teaching, modelling effective practice, and working as part of a school team
Interest, skills, or experience in STEM, music, and/or sport would be advantageous. Candidates should outline any interests, talents, or experience that could contribute to the wider life of the school, including after-school activities and clubs.
Candidates should demonstrate how they would contribute to the school's Catholic and Salesian ethos, embracing the values of reason, religion, loving-kindness, and service.
A recognised Certificate to Teach Religious Education is required for appointment. Applicants must include evidence of this qualification with their application. Newly qualified teachers may confirm that all requirements have been completed and that certification is pending.
Salesian Primary School endeavours to provide a supportive and collaborative working environment and a positive Droichead experience for newly qualified teachers.
