Danu Community Special School, under the patronage of DDLETB, caters for students aged between 4-18 years with a dual diagnosis of Autism and Moderate or Severe Learning Disability, and complex needs, invites applications for a special class teacher. Our school is developing and increasing in size.
Experience working with students with additional needs and an understanding of ASD is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and/or experience of using PECS, Lámh, Positive Behaviour management strategies is an advantage.
The school participates in the Droichead Programme and is specifically supported by CDNT clinicians from Blanchardstown AVISTA team. As the school has secondary-topped status, the position is open to fully qualified Primary and Post Primary teachers recognised under Route 1 (Primary), Route 2 (Post Primary) and Route 4 (Other) with the Teaching Council. The successful candidate will be paid under the Primary remit of special schools with the DEY.
Appointments are subject to satisfactory references, current teaching council registration, vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
