-Applicants must have a certificate to teach religion, along with an understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Clondulane.
-Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.

-The following knowledge, skills and experience are desirable:
•Continuous and relevant professional development especially in the area of school leadership.
• Experience of working as part of an In-School Management team.
• Interest and understanding of current educational theory and its application in a large school setting.
• Understanding the operation of a school SET team in prioritising the needs of children with special educational needs.
• Interest and knowledge of the use of testing to inform planning and develop individual learning programmes.
• The use of school based CPD to promote collaborative teaching and learning across the school
• A commitment to work in partnership with the Deputy Principal in furthering the aims of the school.
