Portmarnock Community School invites applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic teachers for the position of Physical Education Teacher.

The successful candidate will join a strong and committed Physical Education Department and will be expected to demonstrate excellence in the teaching of PE, including the ability to teach Leaving Certificate Physical Education to a high standard.

Sport and physical education have been at the heart of Portmarnock Community School since its foundation. We are committed to providing high-quality curricular PE for students from 1st to 6th year, fostering lifelong engagement in physical activity, and providing opportunities for students of all abilities and interests to participate in sport and physical activity.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute actively to this ethos, demonstrating a strong commitment both to curricular PE and to the school’s vibrant extracurricular sporting programme.

Teaching Council registration in an additional subject, particularly Science and/or Mathematics, would be a distinct advantage.
