An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This role is for someone to accompany children to and from school on a daily basis.
The bus escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons, five days per week for the school year. The bus escort duties will include:
Escorting the students safely to and from school
Liaising with school staff, bus driver and parents/guardians when necessary
Assisting the students to board and alight from transport safely and ensure that the student is received by the responsible adult at each set down point
Ensuring the student is seated and wearing a safety belt for the duration of the journey
The successful candidate will require good communication skills and have some experience of caring for/working with children with additional needs. Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable.
The bus escort should be available daily, in the morning and afternoon. The children will be arriving at school on or before 08:50 and will be going home at 14:30. The bus escort will be required to meet the bus driver each morning and afternoon at an agreed location on the route.
Salary is €15.98 per hour processed fortnightly and only during term time. Escorts are not paid during holidays but receive holiday pay instead. The hours are split between morning and evening.
Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting requirements, occupational health check and verification of references.
It is a requirement to hold a valid Statutory Declaration and to complete the Form of Undertaking for this position upon offer of employment.
