An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The following abilities are desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with mobility and intimate care needs; ASD and/or complex needs; Downs Syndrome; EBD, etc.
• Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and promotion of positive behaviour strategies.
• Experience in the use of Assistive Technology.
• Child protection training and certification.
A Special Class for children with ASD is being opened in the school this school year. The successful candidate may be required to work in this class.
Appointment is subject to, but not limited to, satisfactory references, current Garda Vetting and Occupational Health Screening.
