The bus escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons five days per week during term time and also during periods of Summer Programme.
This is a fixed term role, approximately 2/3 hours per day. The bus escort will accompany and support students in a mini bus from their home in Athlone and surrounding areas to and from school. Start at approximately 8.25am and collection of pupils at 1.45pm from St Paul's N.S
*Please note final contract hours are to be confirmed with the transport provider and will be reconfigured from time to time when bus routes are changed due to pupil enrolment. Times may vary based on traffic and confirmed route.
• The bus escort will:
-accompany pupils on school bus transport to and from their home to St Paul's N.S each day.
- Work mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, term time only and 2 weeks in July.
-ensure pupil safety and wellbeing while on board including:
- assist children getting on and off bus and ensure a safe handover to SNA/teacher/parent/guardian
- secure seat belts and any other safety equipment
- support care needs as required
• The hourly rate of pay €15.98 per hour and is in line with the Department of Education and Youth guidelines for school bus escorts.
- Only those being called for interview will be contacted.
- Garda Vetting required prior to commencement.
• The successful candidate will require good communication skills as they will be working with children and liaising with school staff, the bus driver and parents/guardians.
• Experience of working with children with additional needs is desirable
