The two vacancies comprise of a Full Time Permanent Position and a Fixed-term Job Share (0.85 Hrs). All appointments are for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening. Applications will be accepted by post only. Canvassing will disqualify without exception. The position is subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review.
Fossa National School invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. The school is seeking a candidate who is flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the wider school community. The successful applicant should be energetic, enthusiastic, able to contribute positively as part of a team, and capable of working on his/her own initiative.
Candidates should be willing to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses relevant to the needs of the children and the school. Experience and/or training in working with children with ASD, OT needs, and medical care needs is desirable.
