Pelletstown Educate Together N.S. has one vacancy for the position of Bus Escort in the Dublin 15 and Dublin 11 area. Pelletstown ETNS is a Mainstream Primary School with 3 Autism Classes.
We are seeking one Bus Escort to support and supervise our students whilst they come to and from school on transport, which is in the form of a 7-seater taxi. Duties will include escorting children to and from Pelletstown ETNS; i.e. collecting them at their homes along with the transport driver, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated with appropriate straps/harnesses, and ensuring that each pupil is received by a staff member at the school, and parent/carer at the home. Arrangements can be made with bus driver to collect you on route to collecting students, or to meet you somewhere mutually convenient.
The candidate should have experience of working with, or have an understanding of, additional needs and be able to work with parents and staff in a professional manner. Applicants must supply character references, and Garda Vetting is mandatory, which will be undertaken by the school.
The role is approximately 12.5 hours per week (i.e. 2.5 hours per day) with rate of pay of €15.98 per hour. Employment is during school term only, and the general hours of work are 7:00am - 8:20am, and 2:10pm - 3:20pm. Holiday pay is at a rate of 8% per hours worked and paid 3 times per year. The post is a non-pensionable post, however a number of private pension options are available.
