SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANT (32 hours/week)
Applications are invited for the position of Special Needs Assistant (1 vacancy) with responsibility for students with autism in both mainstream and the autism special class. Following the interview process, a panel will be formed from which vacancies will be filled should they arise during the 2026-27 academic year.
This is a full-time vacancy commencing immediately in late August 2026. The position will be filled pending the approval of the Department of Education and Youth and in accordance with the DEY regulations, the Board of Management of Ashbourne Community School and subject to Garda Vetting and satisfactory completion of the pre employment questionnaire with the Department of Education’s Occupational Health Service provider.
Relevant experience with SEN students in a post primary school, working with a variety of care needs, knowledge and experience of working with ICT and as part of an SNA team is desirable.
