This position will require availability to work 5 days per week, for 2-3 hours per day split between morning and afternoon.
Candidates should be resilient, kind and caring, be able to demonstrate patience and flexibility,and have excellent teamwork skills.

The successful candidate will be:
• Responsible for assisting pupils in and out of the bus and to ensure pupils' safety when travelling
• Responsible for observing and supervising pupils while travelling
• Responsible for communication between home and school
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop off point agreed with the bus contractor.
It may be possible for bus to collect you en-route to collect student, or meet you somewhere convenient if you live near the area. This can be discussed at interview stage.
Experience working with children with autism and complex needs is desirable. Candidates will be expected to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way, they will need to communicate regarding pick ups/drop offs, illnesses, traffic, delays etc.
Appointment is subject to garda vetting and appropriate character references.
Salary is €15.82 per hour processed fortnightly and only during term time. Escorts are not paid during but receive holiday pay instead.

Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements and Tusla child Safeguarding training.
