Additional Information:
St. Anne's Special School, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, is a vibrant and student-centred special school catering for students aged 4–18 years with Moderate, Severe and Profound General Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex additional needs.
Applications are invited for a Fixed-Term Teaching Post (0.6 WTE / 15 Hours per Week) for the 2026/2027 school year.
This is an additional teaching post sanctioned to the school.
The days and hours associated with this post are negotiable, subject to the operational needs of the school.
The initial duties of this post may include:
• Class-based teaching support
• Small group and individual teaching
• Additional teaching support across the school
• Support for students with Autism and complex needs
• Curriculum, wellbeing and communication support initiatives
Duties are subject to change in accordance with the needs of the school.
We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible and committed teacher who:
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Has experience or a willingness to work with students with Autism and complex learning needs.
• Has excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates creativity, adaptability and initiative.
• Is committed to working as part of a multidisciplinary and whole-school team approach.
• Has a strong commitment to student wellbeing, communication and positive behaviour support.
Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas would be desirable:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
• Lámh
• Positive Behaviour Support
• Total Communication Approaches
• Special Education
Experience in special education is desirable; however, applications are welcome from all suitably qualified and registered teachers who demonstrate a willingness to learn and a commitment to supporting students with additional needs.
Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland and hold qualifications recognised by the Department of Education.
