Additional Information:
Belmayne Community Special school, under the patronage of DDLETB, caters for students aged between 4-18 years with a dual diagnosis of Autism and Moderate or Severe learning difficulties and complex needs, invites applications for special needs assistant.
Experience working with students with additional needs and an understanding of ASD is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and/ or experience of using PECS, Lámh, VB-MAPP & ABLLS assessment and Positive Behaviour management strategies is an advantage. Level 6 qualification is desirable.
Appointments are subject to satisfactory references, vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
The SNA provides the necessary non-teaching services to pupils with assessed educational needs. The SNA acts in a care and support role that is non-teaching in nature and works under the guidance and supervision of the Principal, Deputy Principal and class teacher.
