Additional Information:
Clonfert College is seeking enthusiastic, flexible and reliable General Substitute Teachers to join our substitute panel. Successful applicants will provide high-quality classroom supervision and teaching to cover short-term and unforeseen teacher absences throughout the academic year.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers, recently qualified teachers, retired teachers, or those seeking flexible employment to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective teaching and supervision for classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Deliver lesson plans and learning activities where provided.
* Maintain a positive, orderly and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
* Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all students in accordance with school policies.
* Take attendance accurately and report any concerns to school management.
* Encourage student engagement and appropriate behaviour in line with the school's Code of Behaviour.
* Complete any records or feedback requested by the absent teacher or school management.
* Be prepared to supervise classes across a range of subject areas where required.
* Carry out supervision duties, where assigned, in accordance with school procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
* Comply with all Department of Education requirements, Child Protection Procedures and school policies.
Essential Requirements
* Current registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland (or eligibility for registration).
* Garda Vetting appropriate to working in schools.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond to short-notice requests.
* Professional, adaptable and dependable.
* Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting student wellbeing.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Experience teaching at post-primary level.
* Ability to teach across a broad range of subjects.
* Experience working with students with additional educational needs.
* Knowledge of restorative practices and inclusive teaching approaches.
* Flexibility to work across both campuses of Clonfert College where required.
