Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Bus Escort will accompany students on a bus from home to St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School in the morning and from St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School to home at the end of the school day.
The Bus Escort is responsible for the safety of the students on board the bus and will be required to provide students’ care needs including but not limited to assisting the students getting on and off the bus/taxi, securing appropriate seat belts, etc.
The Bus Escort is required to ensure a safe handover to the SNA in the morning, and to parents/guardians in the afternoon.

The Bus Escort is accountable at all times to the Principal/Board of Management of St. Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School

Requirements of the post:
The Bus Escort must be available in the mornings and in the afternoons (approx 7:45am - 8:45 am, and from 3:30pm - 4:45pm Monday – Friday and 7:45 am - 8:30 and 1:00pm - 2:15pm on Wednesday. These times will be confirmed once the route is confirmed.

The Bus Escort must have their own transport to and from the pick-up and drop off point
Professionalism, discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Experience of working with students with additional needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians, the students, teachers, SNAs, Principal and the driver.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Reliable, punctual, kind, caring and patient.
The appointment is subject to Garda Vetting, Children First online training and appropriate references.
School Transport Bus Escort posts are subject to NCSE approval.
Number of hours per week: 12. Rate of pay: €15.98 per hour
Commencement Date: 27th August 2026
Term Time 27th August 2026 - 23rd June 2027
