The Position
Guidance Counsellor
● 11-hour Fixed-Term Teaching Contract
● Commencing: August 2026
● Duration: School Year 2026/2027, subject to the approval of the Department of Education.
The Successful Candidate Will:
● Be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland.
● Hold the qualifications recognised by the Department of Education for the provision of Guidance at post-primary level.
● Demonstrate excellence in supporting students' educational, personal, social and career development.
● Work collaboratively as a member of the Student Support Team.
● Contribute positively to the pastoral, wellbeing and co-curricular life of the school.
● Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos and values of Scoil Mhuire College.
Appointment is Subject to:
● Current Teaching Council Registration.
● Satisfactory Garda Vetting.
● Compliance with all Department of Education requirements and current Child Protection procedures.
● Subject to Department of Education approval.
