Eolas Breise:
We have two positions a fixed-term position for one year to cover a job-sharing arrangement in the school and a maternity leave position.
The successful candidate will support children in both our mainstream and ASD classes. The duties of the role are outlined in the Department of Education Skills Circulars. All DEY criteria apply to the posts. The posts are subject to continued NCSE allocation and SENO review. Applicants must demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to address the educational and care needs of children
Desirable skills include
• willingness to undertake relevant CPD which relate to the needs of the children and of the school
• suitability to the school environment and the needs of the pupils in the school
• willingness to participate in and support school activities as required
• experience of working with pupils with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other special educational needs
The successful candidates should:
• be kind, patient and respectful in their interactions with children
• be willing to uphold the ethos of the school
• respect the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of all pupils
• work well as part of a team
• work under the guidance of the teaching staff,Senco and Principal
• be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of pupils and the school
• demonstrate a strong work ethic and a positive, solution-focused attitude
The school will reopen with staff planning days on August 27th and August 28th. Successful candidates will be expected to complete 72 hours (in accordance with DES Circulars) throughout the year
Appointment is subject to Garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening, and the completion of the online Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
