The Board of Management invites applications for 3 one-year fixed term teacher vacancies, for children with Mild General Learning Disabilities and/or in ASD Units. Applications should be forwarded to the Chairperson of the Board of Management at the following address:
Catherine McAuley Special School, Ashbourne Avenue, South Circular Road, Limerick V94 AW98 by the 31st July, 2026.
Catherine McAuley Special School caters for pupils with Mild General Learning Disabilities at both primary and post primary levels. The school has 28 classes in total of pupils with
learning needs and a staff of 34 teachers and 34 SNAs.
Appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
Please ensure that you fulfil the requirements of the advert so that your application can be considered. Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour is preferable.
Candidates must be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in relevant CPD, have a strong work ethic and respect the ethos of the school.
Knowledge of Special Education in general and ASD in particular is desirable. Applicants must have the required Religious Education Certificate as our school has a Catholic Ethos. Candidates called for interview will bring referees’ names (role, contact no.) and references along with copies of Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees.
