An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management of Ballyguiltenane National School invites applications for a fixed term position for one academic year 2026/2027:
Fixed Term position, 1 year 2026/2027 PART TIME (0.75hours) Special Needs Assistant. It will involve working every school day, Mon- Fri. This may be subject to change.
The following skills are desirable:
Experience of working with children with Epilepsy, Diabetes, A.S.D., an intellectual disability, a physical disability, emotional and behavioural difficulties, assistance with personal hygiene, peg feeding and intimate care needs and using communication tools are desirable.
Candidates must be willing to undertake courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school. Experience of working with children with autism.
Duties include working with children of all ages, assisting children with intimate care, accessing activities, and supporting students with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
Candidates must be able to work well as part of a team, be flexible and show willingness to engage in further training and upskilling, as deemed necessary by the principal.
The initial duties of the post may change according to the care needs of the pupils.
Any canvassing will disqualify without exception.
