Candidates may be required to work in our ASD classes or to work in our mainstream classes, depending on the needs of the pupils.
Candidates must be willing to uphold the ethos of the school. They must show a willingness to be involved in school activities, always respecting the dignity and confidentiality of the pupils and be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school.
Candidates must be able to work well a part of a team, be flexible, and display strong work ethic. Experience and or training in working with children with autism and emotional behavioural difficulties is desirable. Applicants who are deemed to be on the SNA Supplementary Panel should furnish a copy of the panel form (PF1) with their application
The successful candidate may be required to:
administer medicine, where a child requires adult assistance to administer medicine and where the extent of assistance required would overly disrupt teaching time
assist with intimate care needs, including toileting, where a child requires adult assistance and where the extent of assistance required would overly disrupt normal teaching time
This appointment is subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting procedure, Occupational Health Screening and completion of the online Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
